Our Mission is to entertain, to inform, to inspire, to encourage and to educate. The Sandy Hook International Film Festival, based in Sandy Hook CT, is backed by World Heritage Cultural Center (www.mywhcc.org) that was formed for the sole purpose of cultural inclusivity and exchange. We believe that the arts is one of the most powerful tools to tell great stories, narratives and acts as educational mediums – movies, as well as scripts and music can contribute to a healthier society and that these works should encourage the active involvement of audiences to connect and act collectively to address social challenges.
SHIFF is a common ground for cultural exchange in the form of storytelling through movies, plays, screenplays, lectures, discussions, festival workshops, professional development, and opportunities to meet Filmmakers around the world. Winning and finalist films and scripts are innovative, distinctive, compelling, engaging, relevant to varied audiences, and encourage participation.
